Alex against "the
'evil' British Airways empire," Branson, somewhat serenely, spoke to me
on the telephone about his private hideway in the British I have just
returned from Bali (another of his favorite destinations and cultures)

reef and turquoise waters. Yes, it awaits you, come and dive or sail to
this mystical isle where only the best can be epected and perhaps you'll
be the lucky one to wave as Richard and his hot air ballon passes by as
he still tries to concquer a Why did you purchase N amoung all the islands
It was jewel I ever found....it really had everything we could possible
dream of , sandy beaches, beautiful reeves, completely unspoiled, the
view from it, On a more personal level, correct me if I'm wrong and know
your past a little bit starting with the sex pistols and record companies
to the ultimate in luxury. How I just love challenges, and particularly
new chanllenges and can't resist opportunites where I feel tath we can
bring something to a company or to an island and make it special and not
spoil it. It just a very inquisit type of invidual. One things led on
to another and we try to create the best in any field we go into and when
we bought N the key thing was to make sure we did not spoil it and Yes
were not going to do any more development at all on it. The great thing
about having us there is we got rid of the goats, who were damaging the
undergrowth, we planted alot of trees which of wildlife, attracted alot
birds in particuar. Is there one spot in the world you would recomI love
Bali and Indonesia, I have been there for a number of years since we've
had N but white river rafting down the ubridge?? river in Bali is something
I wouldn't mind doing this very second. Now we have the idea of virgin
ultimate, and our vision of the magazine is also along those lines, but
some of our owners are asking is there a critireon to be a possible candidtate
to join Virgin Ultimate? Are you going to look into those option or just
keep it very exclusive? Basically Virgin Ultimate, the person who runs
it, Geraldine, has the most wonderfully job, because she's going around
looking for the ultimate properties. What we found with N peole would
go there they would then rebook and find it was booked they'd ask us for
a recommendation or they'd come to N and they'd come to N and want a winter
holiday or they'd come to N and they'd want a yatch. We thought to put
toghether a brochure, and also it's quite usually for myself personally,
where we could find the ultimate places. If Mr. Bill Gates ask you if
there is one main feature he should or should not have in his new $30
million retreat, what would you tell him? long pause A computer, he definetey
should not have. I beleive in notebooks , he shold have a notebook and
no computer Are you planning any adventurous trip? This dec we're attempting
